PSA National President Gary Edwards CSP has been facilitating workshops for over 25 years and has worked with almost every government department, local council, corporate, NFP and private organisation in SA – and plenty interstate – regularly getting 9 or 10/10 ratings and repeat business over many years.
Along the way he’s collected and perfected a wide range of tips, tricks, tools and techniques that you can use to run any workshop with any group of people.
In this session Gary will share these skills and strategies with you – and will also facilitate a group discussion so that we share the tools and techniques that we all have and can benefit from.
This will be a highly practical session where everything will be on the table - you'll learn:
- The underlying framework for any workshop
- How to plan and structure a half day or full day workshop
- How to use and combine the many different sources of information: you, PowerPoint, whiteboard, flipchart, workbooks, handouts, group discussion
- How to run an effective brainstorming session
- Fundamental adult teaching principles and skills
- Managing time effectively
- Working with different personalities
- Adding stories, humour and exercises to engage and involve the group
About Gary Edwards CSP
Gary Edwards CSP started teaching adults at TAFE 30+ years ago and hasn’t stopped since! A dedicated educator, communication coach and “teaching technician”, he’s passionate about giving people the knowledge and skills they need to be more successful in their business and personal lives.
Gary has taught at TAFE, at four different Adelaide universities, and in the private sector, and for the past 20+ years has run his own business, Speak With Influence, where he specialises in showing people how to be more effective in any situation.
Gary is the current PSA National President, a Certified Speaking Professional, and a member of the Australian Speakers Hall of Fame.
