Michael Levitt is a colorectal surgeon with a particular interest in the day-to-day workings of the human bowel. In this talk, he will describe the essential determinants of a good bowel habit and how that can go awry. And he will outline his approach to the assessment and treatment of people who experience a bowel that is anything but happy.

About Dr Michael Levitt

Michael Levitt has been in continuous clinical practice as a colorectal surgeon in Perth since 1990. He is currently also a medical consultant to the WA Country Health Executive, a Clinician Member of the Medical Board of WA and a Director of St John of God Health Care. He has authored over forty articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, three chapters in medical text books and three books for the general public about bowel health; in 2022, Fremantle Press published his first work of fiction. In 2003 he was awarded a Centenary Medal for public education about colorectal cancer, and in 2018, he was nominated for Australian of the Year (Western Australian chapter). Michael remains an active contributor to Perth Jewish Community activities through school and synagogue board roles over the past 25 years.”

After the break Dr Jenny Brockis will be joining Dr Michael Levitt for “On The Couch” Q & A about all things health. As speakers we need to be healthy to run our businesses and deliver value for our clients.
