A highly interactive workshop you don’t want to miss.
Audience engagement can make or break a presentation. The more engagement tools in your toolkit, the better prepared you are to work with any audience. Enter improv - a masterful tool for energising and engaging your audience in an interactive way. And the good news? You don’t need to be a professional improviser to use the skills. But you do need to learn from one! We’re delighted to have the Artistic Director for Impro Melbourne, Katherine Weaver, sharing her years of expertise with us.
Katherine will show you some applied improvisational exercises - or ‘games’ as she calls them - that will get your audiences moving and interacting with one another on the way toward a dynamic shared experience. She will also discuss some of the core principles of improvisation that will allow you to have more spontaneous interactions with the audience so that they feel a part of your presentations. And best of all, you’ll get the opportunity to practise these games and improv concepts in a safe, non-judgemental space.
In this session we will learn how to:
- Get our audiences out of their seats
- Lift the energy of our sessions
- Be a more spontaneous presenter
About Katherine Weaver
Katherine Weaver is an improvisor, actor, teacher and Co-Artistic Director of Impro Melbourne. She has performed and directed with Impro Melbourne in many seasons and has been involved in such shows as Theatresports™, Gorilla Theatre™ and Maestro™. Her love of performing is only matched by her love of teaching, which she has been honoured to do in Wurzburg Germany, Wellington New Zealand, Adelaide Australia and Canberra.
