Speaking is about delivering our expert content to a receptive audience. But in that moment of delivery, are we maximising the impact for ourselves and the audience?
There are many micro-skills that we can use to deliver our content and interact with the audience, and as professional speakers we need to continuously learn and refine our ability to do that. What we do and say in that moment is critical.
As well as being a speaker, Gary Edwards CSP has been a professional corporate magician for over 30 years. In that time, he has learnt a range of performance skills and principles that have enabled him to successfully perform in front of thousands of people in many different settings.
In this session, Gary will show you the 6 key principles that he learnt as a professional magician and how you can apply them in your speaking to make small but significant changes that improve how you are seen, how your message is understood, and what people will do as a result.

About Gary Edwards CSP
Gary has been doing magic since he was 7 years old, and has spent over 30 years as a part time professional magician, as well as having real jobs as a lawyer, educator and consultant. In that time he has learnt from very experienced and insightful magicians, and has also researched and analysed not only HOW magic works, but WHY it works. In doing so, he’s accumulated a number of core principles which he builds into his magic performances and has taught to other magicians - and which he also uses in speaking and training in order to improve his message delivery and audience interaction. As a senior magician once said to Gary, “Magic is mind control!” And who wouldn’t want to do that?
