Speaker 1 - Donna McGeorge

Drawing on research from neuroscience, energy flow and the body’s natural rhythms, Donna will reveal how to divide the workday into 2-hour blocks in line with the level of intensity and impact required.

Donna will share:

  • Why doing your email first thing may not be the best use of your time
  •  Why having a to do list isn’t enough
  • Why we make bad decisions late in the day
  • Why we should watch the clock in our body rather than the clock on the wall

About Donna

Donna is passionate about enhancing the large amount of time we spend in our workplace (too much, for many) to ensure it is effective and productive, as well as enjoyable.

She has worked with managers and leaders throughout Australia and Asia–Pacific for over 20 years. She delivers practical skills, training, workshops and facilitation to corporates — such as Nissan Motor Company, Jetstar, Medibank Private and Ford Motor Company — so they learn to manage their people well and produce great performance and results.

Donna has recently moved from Victoria to the Gold Coast, and her most creative moments come while sipping tea on her balcony, gazing at the waterways, alongside her husband, Steve, and dog, Prudence.

Donna believes that workplaces are complex, but not hard. More often than not it’s getting the simple things right, consistently, that has the greatest impact.

She also knows that when we decide to be intentional, we can surprise ourselves with what we can achieve.

Donna is the author of 10 books and publications, including bestsellers The 25-Minute Meeting and The First 2 hours.

About Karen Jacobsen - The GPS Girl®

International Speaker, Concert Artist and Songwriter Karen Jacobsen’s speaking voice unexpectedly led to a unique pop culture status. In over a billion GPS and smartphone devices worldwide, including the original Aussie voice of ’Siri’, hers is the voice of reason, telling us where to go and what to do on a daily basis. In real life, through her songs, concert performances and speaking presentations, she entertains and inspires people to recalculate their way to their dream destination in life.

Driven to follow her dream and born to light up the stage, Karen moved to New York City with one suitcase. In her first years in New York City, Karen auditioned to record a text to speech voice system, having no idea it would take her voice to every corner of the globe. From that one voice-over booking she created her empowerment brand The GPS Girl®, giving directions for life and business and showing how to navigate change powerfully with the 5 Directions for Recalculating process.

An International Speaker and Concert Performer, both live and virtually, she has taken her universal message to national and international events across multiple industries including finance, health, education, travel, real estate, as a TEDx Speaker and Global Artist in Residence at High Point University. Karen has also enjoyed wide international media coverage, and was told she had made it when named as a clue in The New York Times crossword puzzle.

An Author, Karen has written two journal style books; The GPS Girl's Road Map for Your Future, and Recalculate - Directions for Driving Performance Success.

Karen is a Past President of the New York City chapter of the National Speakers Association, and served on the national board for four years, two of those years as Secretary.

Karen, her husband and young son thought they were coming to Australia from their New York City home of 20 years for a few weeks to visit family at the beginning of the pandemic. Recalculating everything and coming full circle, they find themselves as locals in the glorious Whitsunday region, and count their lucky stars every day to be there.
