For us all to work together to support each other during the current challenging climate we will be running our normal Chapter meet-ups as Chapter HUGs via Zoom. You are welcome to join any of the state chapter HUGs as we share the love across the country. All of these events are free to members. Guests can also join the HUGs for a small registration charge.

The VIC July HUG will be held on 20 July at 6:00pm. Our speaker will be Bill Jennings CSP.

Embedding the COVID-19 Learnings

Do you remember the specific day you realised that the world, your world had changed? For Bill Jennings CSP, guest presenter at the next Vic/Tas PSA HUG that day was Friday the 13th of March. That morning Bill’s phone started ringing and email flooded in. Each message was the same. Upcoming events POSTPONED! This experience was replicated by many of Bill’s speaking colleagues at the PSA Convention in Adelaide that weekend. That weekend sparked a period of rapid innovation and learning for us all.

In this HUG, Bill will help you embed the learnings you’ve gained in the 100+ days since Convention, a history making pandemic visiting us in our time. There’s a danger as we get further away from the shock of that moment, that the positive things we’ve done, the generosity we witnessed, and the innovation of colleagues will just fade away in the memory.

Participants in this session will:

  1. Build an inventory of the learning we gained during the first 100+ days of the Covid19 reality.
  2. Experience deep reflection about the moments that have delighted and surprised you.
  3. Engage in rich group conversations with your speaking colleagues.
  4. Learn how to transfer real life speaking methods to the online environment.
