For us all to work together to support each other during the current challenging climate we will be running our normal Chapter meet-ups as Chapter HUGs via Zoom for members only. You are welcome to join any of the state chapter HUGs as we share the love across the country. All of these events are free to members.

The NSW May HUG will be held on 21 April at 5:45pm and we are delighted to have Dale Rees-Bevan present for us.

Cutting Out the Middleman: Mining Stories for Metaphors

Dale Rees-Bevan

Metaphors bypass our critical thinking faculties and speak to us at a level that enable us to just “get it.” As professional speakers, we have a challenge to get our message(s) through in shorter and shorter time frames. Metaphors are a powerful tool to use to increase the impact and efficiency of our speaking.

This session will help you tap into your creativity and communication skills to produce refined ways of delivering your message.

What you'll learn in this thought-provoking session:

  • Mining stories for metaphors
  • Mindset metaphors
  • Concept metaphors
  • Physical metaphors
