Session 1: Selling to Associations…Bypass the Gatekeeper and Sell Through the Backdoor with Ed Rigsbee CSP
Ed Rigsbee CSP, CAE is going to share his tactics to secure paid association bookings, especially for those of us that are reluctant to pick up the telephone. He will show us how to sell to trade associations and professional societies by going after their soft underbelly – publication editors. In building a relationship with any association, Ed will demonstrate how to first build a relationship bridge with the association’s editor by offering articles adapted from books, keynotes or seminars. Then, you’ll learn how to use the editor relationship to bridge the divide into the meetings department. And, you’ll learn how to find these associations through free Internet directories and web sites.
Ed Rigsbee, CSP, CAE has been a member of the National Speakers Association (USA) since 1988. He is an internationally recognized authority on strategic alliances and membership growth.
Ed also founded the non-profit public charity Cigar PEG in 1999, at the NSA national convention. Cigar PEG has donated over $500,000 dollars to charitable good works organizations, including the NSA Foundation’s Professional Speaker Benefit Fund.
Session 2: with Vinh Giang
Vinh Giang is one of Australia's most successful keynote speakers. He started his career in Adelaide and now lives in Southern California. Vinh has built a highly successful speaking business over the last 5 years, travelling all over the US and speaking at high end conferences. And like many of you, over night Vinh's speaking business vanished.
In this session, you'll learn what Vinh is doing in the virtual space in order to save his business. Vinh has spent the last 2 weeks with his team dissecting the world of virtual workshops/ webinars, and will share with you the lessons he's learnt and what he sees as the best practice strategies for moving forward, offering our clients value and rebuilding our businesses. Vinh will also answer any questions and discuss anything that is of use to us at this time.
Session 3: Expert Panel
A panel of industry experts including Dale Beaumont, Nina Sunday CSP and Michael McQueen CSP will discuss overcoming the current challenges to the speaking industry and our businesses, and answer your questions.
