Creating a Keynote from Life's Disruptions

Have you ever received a phone call that changed everything?

In 2010, Neryl East CSP was told her partner, Michael McKeogh, had been critically injured in a dirt bike accident. As Mike fought back from near-fatal injuries, she was plunged into the world of the carer. What followed was a journey of defying medical predictions, setting new goals and achieving an extraordinary result in a world sporting event.

Fast forward to 2019, and Mike and Neryl have crafted their story into a keynote entitled Disrupt Your Life.

In a special version of the keynote just for PSA, they’ll unpack how they took a traumatic experience and turned it into a compelling presentation for business and mainstream audiences.

By attending this event you will learn about

  1. Creating a new keynote from the ground up
  2. The opportunities and challenges of taking a personal story to a mainstream audience
  3. The importance of weaving humour into emotionally-charged content
  4. Telling a story through the lens of two presenters
  5. Why you don’t need to wait until a major problem or negative experience forces you to make changes in your speaking business or other aspects of your world.

You’ll leave inspired to disrupt your own life and elevate your speaking business.

Dr Neryl East CSP is a communication and credibility expert who shows leaders and teams how to stand out, accelerate their success and avoid costly reputation mistakes. Neryl has been a professional communicator for more than three decades, including a career in television and radio and a stint as an Olympic announcer. She has also spent many years managing high-profile issues in the public and private sectors, and training executives and entrepreneurs on leading in the media spotlight. Neryl has a PhD in Journalism, is an Amazon best-selling author on media and reputation, she is a past Kerrie Nairn Scholarship recipient and immediate past President of PSA NSW/ACT.

Michael McKeogh is an award-winning business owner and entrepreneur. After a diverse career path that included electrician, police officer, tourist coach driver, immigration consultant, garbage collector and telecommunications project manager, Mike started his company, Fibre Optics Design and Construct, on his dining room table. Mike’s life took a shocking turn in 2010 when he narrowly survived an accident that left him wheelchair-bound. Everything changed; sporting opportunities, business success, even friendships. Few people factored in Mike’s determination to not only walk but excel in whatever came next.
