Welcome to an opportunity to get up and close with four experts and ask all the questions you have been meaning to ask. Attend this fun, highly interactive chapter event to gain 'Ideas, Insight, Information' to improve your speaking business and skills.

Hear from some of the country's leading experts (all are CSPs) on various aspects of the speaking business. All of these CSPs have built successful speaking businesses over many years.

THIS IS TRULY A MASTERCLASS THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS!

They will host 20 minute table discussions and give you tips to take your speaking business to the next level and beyond. This is very much a "how to" session so please come prepared to take notes, ask questions and take your business to the next level.

Your CSP Expert Speakers & topics for the evening

Expert 1 - Dave Staughton CSP

What's Hot - Trends and Topics in the Speaker's Market

Dave Staughton CSP CCEO is a business guru and speaking legend. Dave was awarded the 2017 PSA Nevin Award, he’s been on the PSA Board and twice been convenor of the PSA Convention. He knows a LOT of speakers and many things about the business of speaking.

For the last eight years he has been helping and advising ICMI – the biggest speakers bureau in Australia. Recently he has been working on their talent development strategy and analysed the secrets of thousands of successful and starving speakers.

Dave’s best mate is Scott Pape, the Barefoot Investor. Scott knows how to write best-selling books and build a powerhouse brand. Dave learned a lot from Scott.

If you come along to this session he promises NOT to show his 175 slides of the most awesome and amazing stuff for speakers. Dave will however share his biggest mistakes and regrets - he has spent TONS of money on speaker development and implemented BUGGER ALL.

He will also tell you some great stories and reveal just a FEW key things you should do and stop doing if you want to be a more successful speaker.  You can even ask him LOTS of questions and he will probably be very blunt and outspoken. Some people might even CRY.

Expert 2 - Bill Jennings CSP

Scale Up Your Speaking Business - from sideline to solopreneur to a genuine business

Bill Jennings CSP has run Time & Space for 13 years – these are community events in schools that help mums, dads and their young people have conversations they might remember for nothing short of a lifetime. Since 2006 Bill has gone from offering these programs whilst he was still a teacher to being the sole facilitator of these events to now having a team of carefully chosen facilitators delivering these experiences around the country.

In this round table session Bill will give you the following:

  1. Pointers about how you know if you currently have a viable offer.
  2. Significant points on his journey where he was able to make an uncomfortable leap to the next level in his business.
  3. The names of key books and resources that have informed his progress.
  4. Lessons received from colleagues in Professional Speakers Australia that have informed this progress.
  5. His case for having strong accountability partners around you.
  6. The value of having an unambiguous specific goal.
  7. Answers to your questions about how to take your speaking business to the next stage.

Expert 3 - Donna Hanson CSP

The Most Valuable 'Take-Homes' from NSA Influence 2019

Donna recently attended NSA Influence 2019 in Denver, Colorado where the theme was: Transform - Your Methods. Your Thinking. Your Impact. Your Business. Donna will share with you some of the most important learnings from this Conference.

For over twenty years, Donna has been working with organisations and their teams to increase productivity, performance and profits with technology they already own.

One of only 5 people outside the US accredited to deliver an email productivity program to Microsoft’s own staff, Donna has also made regular appearances on Channel 7’s Sunrise program and Channel 9’s A Current Affair as a technology commentator.

Donna has presented internationally in the US, UK, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand and the Cook Islands.

She is passionate about getting people off technology and back to business.

Expert 4 - Leanne Faraday-Brash CSP

Doing Difficult

Leanne Faraday-Brash CSP cut her teeth 30 years ago running courses for convicted drink drivers who had to attend to get their licences back. After three years of that she resolved to run programs and keynotes one day for people who actually want to be there. Decades later as an endorsed organisational psychologist, her clients include Nike, Thomson Reuters, HESTA, Unilever, L‘Oreal and Holden. She is just as happy in the boiler room as the boardroom and as an EEO practitioner and BRASH provocateur, routinely works with audiences who are can be everything from defensive even dastardly to delightful... and high risk/high value conversations of one to one thousand.

Leanne applies art and science to behavioural and attitudinal change, delivering bad news and high risk/high value conversations audiences of one to one thousand. Leanne has presented in North America, Canada, India, Israel, Europe, New Zealand and all over Australia. She regularly appears on radio and in broadsheet and digital publications.

Leanne welcomes your toughest questions on Difficult and she’ll give you raw honesty but she does hope you won’t CRY as she gets enough of that in her day job.

Get ready for a funny, enlivened no-nonsense discussion on hacks for Difficult.

But wait there’s… (well there might be)… more!

The organisers of our 16th September PSA Vic/Tas meeting are in a small quandary in announcing this possible bonus session as there is a small chance that it might not actually happen. So in advance, we seek your forgiveness if our special extra guest’s flight into Melbourne from Hamilton Island is delayed and he doesn’t make it.

On the other hand, there is a very good chance that it will happen and we feel we need to share this exciting possibility with you. If all goes to plan, our final session at this month’s meeting will be an opportunity to hear from the one and only Michael McQueen CSP. He will be interviewed by his close friend and colleague, Lisa McInnes-Smith CSP CPAE.

Michael McQueen is, with no exaggeration, one of Australia’s top, top speakers. Simply take in this information you will find on the front page on his website.

Michael McQueen is a multi-award winning speaker, trend forecaster and bestselling author of 8 books.

With clients including KPMG, Pepsi and Cisco, he has helped some of the world’s most successful brands navigate disruption and maintain momentum.

In addition to featuring regularly as a commentator on TV and radio, Michael is a familiar face on the international conference circuit having shared the stage with the likes of Bill Gates, Dr John Maxwell and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Michael has spoken to over 500 000 people across 5 continents since 2004, and is known for his engaging, entertaining and practical conference presentations.

Michael is one of Professional Speaker Australia’s biggest stars and the chance to hear his answers to Lisa’s questions will give you an insight into the deep thinking and discipline that Michael has applied to both his speaking business and his elegant speaking craft. Even on the chance that we might miss Michael, you really can’t miss the chance that you will hear from him at our Vic/Tas meeting on Monday the 16th of September.
