and Funny into Money! with Nigel Collin CSP and Kate Burr

We have a fabulous event lined up for you this month with the adventurous Nigel Collin CSP and the funny Kate Burr!

Session 1 - Take your clients on your adventure while you build a profitable speaking business with Nigel Collin CSP

Ever wanted to write you own adventure and turn it into a profitable speaking business?

In 2013 Nigel Collin headed off on an adventure into remote and regional Australia. Just him, his motorcycle and a video camera. His quest was to inspire the ideas of a Nation. He videoed and streamed the trip.  Five years later, ‘Ingenious Oz Project’ has major sponsors, fuelled Nigel’s speaking career and led his third book ‘Game of Inches’.

In this inspiring session, Nigel will for the first time tell his story of how he tuned a passion for adventure into a viable business project.

You will learn:

  • Why passion is vital but can send you broke without the right business model
  • How to get your clients to take ‘ownership’ of your story and not just ‘buy-in’ to it
  • How to really use video effectively
About Nigel Collin CSP

In 2013 he set off on a solo motorcycle trip throughout remote and regional Australia armed with a video camera. His quest was to meet and hear the business success stories of ingenious and clever Australians.

As a result he founded the ‘Ingenious Oz Project’ and subsequently created the ‘Game of Inches’ business process.

Thirsting for more regional success stories, in October 2019 (with the support of the NT Deparment of Trade, Business and Innovation) he headed to the Northern Territory this time to gather more amazing stories for his Ingenious Oz Project.

A master story teller, he shares these stories and importantly the lessons he has learned and how these lessons can be practically applied back into everything you do.

Session 2 - Funny on Purpose with Kate Burr

How to use humour to deliver your message and maintain your credibility!

Do you want to add more humour to your presentations?

Do you wish you were a funnier speaker so you could get more gigs or charge higher fees?

Have you heard that “It's important to be funny if you want to get paid” but have no idea how where to start?

Join Humour Coach & Comedian Kate Burr as she re-creates (and extends) the humour session she presented with Marty Wilson at the PSA Annual Convention.

What you will learn:

  • The secrets that professional comedians use to have their audiences in stitches.
  • Why you should never tell jokes and what you should do instead.
  • How to use humour and still be taken seriously.
  • How to deliver your humour so it is 100% risk-free - if it doesn’t work no-one will ever know and your dignity will remain intact!
  • How you can make people laugh even if you aren’t a funny person.
  • 9 places to seamlessly integrate relevant humour into your presentation that will support your key messages and not overshadow them.
  • The 3 key areas to work on if you want to improve your humour.

During the session there will be an opportunity to have 1 on 1 coaching live in the room.  If you really want to have greater influence and make more of an impact, you can prepare for this event by thinking of a specific topic, or part of your presentation where you think humour will help, and you might be one of the lucky people Kate will workshop with live during the session.
