Join us for a night of expert tips and story-sharing to inspire and elevate your thinking, and super-charge your speaking business into the second half of the year.

We’re so grateful to our expert speakers who will generously share their path to success so we can benefit from their experience. Don’t miss this!

What’s in store for you at this event:

5.00pm Pre-session - Tales from the Trenches

For our July Tales from the Trenches, the fabulous story-telling Master, Jennifer Leone, will invite participants to "test run" stories and receive feedback from the group.

Anyone who would like to trial a five-minute story and have the opportunity to tweak, adjust and explore how to use it - this is your opportunity!

This will be a supportive forum to help speakers hone their craft and harness other speakers' expertise.

THEN…

6.00pm AMA (Ask Me Anything). The speaking business, bureaus and the whole darn lot.

How do you create a speaking business that will bought by bureaus, booked by conferences and kept in demand for years to come?

Not sure? Well you can ask Leanne Christie —a maverick of the speaking industry, a multi-award winning business owner and a generous and gifted presenter herself.

Leanne is Chief of Everything O, including one of the most respected and established Speakers Bureaus in Australia, Ovations International (founded in 1998), and the first speaker management company in Australasia, Ode Management; now operational in the USA and Europe representing speakers like Michael McQueen, Lisa McInnes-Smith, Colin James, Keith Ferrazzi, Dr John Izzo and Anders Sorman-Nilsson.

She will be interviewed at our meeting by Past PSA National President Michael McQueen and is ready to take your questions, which might include:

  • What makes a speaker easy to buy?
  • What are the common requirements that event organisers and bureaus will look for when they want to book a speaker?
  • What tips would you give a speaker who is starting out?

    About Leanne

Leanne Christie is an icon in the speaking industry. Providing a platform for the world’s best educators, trainers, and professional speakers, she has transformed the lives of thousands of audience members across the globe.

She has launched the careers of professional speakers who are today considered speaking royalty. Continual improvement is at the heart of Leanne’s ethos, and her thirst for everything ‘world class’ is inherent to her business.

Leanne is highly regarded by the international speaking industry and has been awarded for her efforts. She was awarded the John Palmer Award (2018) for exemplary service to the association and bureau industry and was the first person outside the USA to be awarded the Dottie Walters Helping Hands award for service to the Bureau Industry (2001). She has also twice served on the board of the International Association of Speakers Bureaus.

    AND…

Mastering Storyshowing For Influence and Authority

As an established or aspiring professional speaker, do you dream of touching millions of people with your unique message?

At our July meeting we’re privileged to hear from one amazing man who is doing just that – taking his incredible story to the world and shifting lives in the process.

Sam Cawthorn CSP will show you how to “storyshow” your message, so you can get in front of more audiences and truly make an impact.

    You’ll learn:

    1. How Sam’s story went to the global stages of the world... and how your story can too.
    2. Positioning and how one disruptive idea is the key ingredient to getting heard.
    3. How to build a global speaking business with five key steps that will blow your mind wide open with new ideas.

    About Sam

Sam Cawthorn CSP is a motivational speaker, success coach, author and entrepreneur, and was Tasmania’s Young Australian of the Year in 2009. Pronounced dead for more than three minutes after an horrific car crash, Sam survived against all the odds. The accident resulted in his right arm being amputated, and caused permanent damage to his right leg. He was told he would never walk again; a setback that would surely defeat many.

Proving the doctors and critics wrong, through sheer determination Sam regained his ability to walk just over a year later. Since his accident, Sam has gone on to speak in 36 countries, sharing his message of resilience with millions of people. He’s shared the stage with world leaders including President Bill Clinton, Michael Jordan, Richard Branson and the Dalai Lama.

    Peter Merrett

We’re delighted to have our immediate past NSW/ACT President back on the microphone as our July MC! Peter is the founder of The House of Wonderful and his message of boundless refreshment has seen global audiences honour him as ‘The Peter Pan of Business Wonder’.
