NSW|ACT State Event: 16 February 2017 - An Evening with Darren LaCroix CSP, World Champion of Public Speaking: Own the Stage and Humour 101

Fasten your seatbelts…

For what promises to be the most spectacular evening! Learn how to own the stage with simple processes to create and prepare a world-class presentation. Also how to get more laughs in your next presentation, even if you don’t think you are funny. One thing’s for sure, you will leave this evening itching to return to the drawing board to fine-tune your material, revamp your current presentations and inspire your audiences with renewed energy!

About Darren LaCroix CSP:

Though he bombed miserably in a Boston Comedy Club in 1992, nine years later he out-spoke 25,000 contestants from 14 countries to become the World Champion of Public Speaking. Since that victory, Darren spends his time demystifying the process of creating powerful presentations. He is passionate about showing people that if you are a sponge and have the right mentors, anything is possible. Darren may have been “born without a funny bone in his body,” but he possessed the desire to learn and the willingness to fail necessary to achieve his dream. As a keynote speaker since 1994, he brings his incredible story to conferences around the world.

Part One: Own the Stage!

Understanding how to put your presentation together quickly can relieve a lot of stress. Or maybe you want to create a world-class presentation and don’t know where to start.

Darren LaCroix’s powerful process made simple will give you confidence in your presentation foundation. You will learn how to demystify the process, using a step-by step program distilled from years of wisdom gained from coaching corporate presenters, executives and professional speakers. You will walk away with:

  • Time-proven speech writing processes
  • Common mistakes to avoid
  • A whole new perspective to writing a world-class speech

Part Two: Humour 101

If you were a meeting planner, and you had to decide between two presenters, who both had good programs, both had the same expertise, and one was funny; who would you choose?

In this session, Darren will show you how to get more laughs in your next presentation, even if you don’t think you are funny.

“There is nothing like the feeling of making an audience laugh”. Darren LaCroix

Darren will teach the processes that comedians use - the exercises and formulas they apply to generate their own humour. This session will show you that anyone can learn to use humour.

Funny people think differently and Darren will show you how to change the way you think.

Presenters who use humour…

  • Connect more deeply • Earn more • Motivate more effectively
  • Are more memorable • Stand out • Have more fun!
  • (Oh and they just plain get booked more, too!).

MC Neryl East

We are delighted that the talented Dr Neryl East will be our MC for the evening. Neryl has been a journalist in television, radio and this year features as your NSW | ACT Chapter Vice President. She has a PhD in Journalism and is an award-winning speaker on all aspects of reputation. We are thrilled having Neryl run this sensational evening for us!
