6.00pm – The Big 5 Safari of Speaking

Dr Rich Allen

Great speakers don't just talk. They use specific strategies to boost engagement and recall.

In this adventurous session, Dr Rich Allen tracks down the Big 5 dynamic strategies every speaker needs.

Find out how to apply them to build your presentation to a standing ovation.

What this session will cover:

  1. How to use neuroscience to make sure your audience can retell your content later.
  2. How to keep your audience in the palm of your hand by changing modalities.
  3. How to turn your presentation into a conversation.

About Rich

Dr Rich Allen is an international keynote presenter and master trainer who regularly speaks to audiences of 5,000-7,000 people. He receives standing ovations and rave reviews for his entertaining, energetic, thought provoking presentations.

A charismatic storyteller, former actor and emotionally intelligent facilitator, Rich travels the world helping presenters, trainers and teachers to engage audiences by harnessing neuroscience and psychology.

He is the best-selling author of 12 books on presenting and training, including TrainSmart and Humane Presentations. Rich’s doctorate in educational psychology studied how the human brain receives, processes and recalls information – knowledge that informs his presentation strategies.

AND…

Practical Emotional Intelligence for Professional Speakers

Chris Golis

People drive performance, emotions drive people, temperament drives emotions.  If you want to lift your emotional intelligence you need use a practical but scientifically valid model of temperament.

A survey of 100 successful general managers ranked people skills as far and away the secret to their success.  (Ethics, by the way, ranked stone motherless last).

The secret to improving your people skills is lifting your emotional intelligence.

What this session will cover:

  1. What is emotional intelligence?
  2. How do you practically lift your emotional intelligence?
  3. What is the ideal EQ profile for the professional speaker and how do you compare?

About Chris

He then changed direction and joined Bankers Trust where he started the Financial Services division and helped raise over $1 billion for BT.

He morphed into a venture capitalist where he raised five funds totalling $200 million over 23 years. Because of his expertise at recognising business opportunities he became a director of over 30 private and public companies.
