Our July Chapter event is a ‘hands-on’, experiential double act with Simone de Haas, The Speakers' Director & Qld Chapter President and Kerrin Smith, Professional Videographer & Photographer, in the creative surrounds of The Henderson Gallery.

ACT 1: The Voice
Speaker: Simone de Haas, The Speakers’ Director
Would you like to maximize the power of your voice?

Would you like to learn how to improve your vocal range and flexibility in just minutes a day?

Would you like to know how to access your breath more effectively, so that you can breathe life into your keynotes and presentations?

As speakers we rely on the power of our voice – not just our content – to deliver our message. Yet our voice is one of the areas we pay the least attention to – until it isn’t there.

In Act 1 of our July Chapter event, Voicing the Vision, Simone will be tapping into her years of experience as a vocal coach for Film & Television Studio International as well as her significant experience as a professional actor & singer to share with you some practical, hands-on vocal awareness techniques including:

  • The 5 elements of Vocal Alchemy and how to shift from one to the other for dynamic effect.
  • Connecting to the circles of Presence to amplify your vocal persona.
  • Common vocal challenges and how to handle them
  • Specific warm-ups and vocal techniques to ensure that your delivery method and content align with the sound of your voice.

ACT 2 – The Vision
Speaker: Kerrin Smith, Kerrin Smith Videography & Photography

Video currently makes up one-third of all internet traffic and is set to hit two-thirds by the end of 2017. With these sorts of statistics, it's crucial for speakers to tap into the power of video creation in order to influence their market, create greater visibility and leverage their expertise.

To help speakers achieve that goal, Kerrin will share her years of expertise as a videographer (and her work with PSA colleagues) in an interactive session which will focus on the practical aspects of video creation and curation.

What you will learn:

  • How to create video blogs to build online relationships and nurture leads.
  • Simple and effective steps for creating and editing business videos using smartphone technology.
  • How to put together a video toolkit which is both easy to use and budget friendly.
  • Quick tips on leveraging your next keynote, workshop or presentation with video.

Join us for a fun, creative and experiential deep dive into creating a more compelling vocal and online presence in Voicing the Vision.
