Utilising the Benefits of LinkedIn (and Social Media) to Grow Your Speaking Business

LinkedIn is not just another social media time waster. LinkedIn means business for professional speakers. Are you in it? If you want to enhance your speaking career or business, learn how to use LinkedIn to your benefit and get work from it. Gain the LinkedIn advantage and make it work for you.

Jo Saunders and Rachel Green will give you some straight talk about LinkedIn. It's not as easy as it may seem and many use it badly. Determine your LinkedIn marketing strategy, connect with real engagement, and establish connections with the people that matter. Enhance your reputation. It's your partner to a better speaking future. And if you're not on LinkedIn, they'll convince you it's worth it for speakers. Can you afford to be without it? No. Can you afford to miss this speech? No. You need it. Your staff need it. Your profit margin needs it. It's time for LinkedIn.

Jo Saunders of Wildfire Social Marketing is a digital marketing consultant and social media educator known for demystifying LinkedIn. She is passionate about helping individuals and organisations connect and communicate effectively and authentically, to build relationships and results, through mentoring, workshops and ongoing support, and a natural curiosity.

With 20 years’ experience in event management and marketing, she helps professionals design and market their events, communicate their brand message and showcase their talent and brilliance. She has trained thousands of people around Australia in using LinkedIn more effectively and was invited to speak at her first conference thanks to video and her LinkedIn Profile.  She invests many hours each week pressing buttons and discussing LinkedIn strategies with other specialists around the globe.  She has been a judge of the web awards for the last 3 years, has been featured in the book ‘Getting Your Business LInkedIn’ and is currently working on her own book.

Rachel Green, CSP is an interactive, down-to-earth and engaging expert speaker on emotional intelligence. She inspires people to keep their cool with difficult customers, to manage their own and others' emotions for productive teamwork, and to build resilience so they don't get sucked into the whirlpool of pressure. She is the Director of The Emotional Intelligence Institute and in both 2011 and 2012 was nominated for the Telstra Business Woman of the year award.

She dynamically and successfully markets her business through LinkedIn. In 2013 she was commended by LinkedIn for having "one of the top 1% most viewed LinkedIn profiles". At the last count she had 16 social-media pages and profiles on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Google +, and possibly more! However, she knows that LinkedIn is by far the most important. She has a high LinkedIn profile, well over 2600 relevant connections, and manages two of her own groups: The Emotional Intelligence Institute; and Confident Woman Australia ... and she gets work directly from LinkedIn. Both her groups draw high quality audiences and content from professionals, managers, executives and CEOs from around Australia. She's high-energy, entertaining and informative, AND passionate about LinkedIn!
